ENERGY AUDITS - DIN EN 16247-1 - EDLG
You meet your legal commitments and we simultaneously optimize your business
Legal compliance should not be the only motivation to carry out an energy audit. It should be much more about the hidden potential to improve your own efficiency and effectiveness.
Are you affected by the audit requirement?
Companies with more than 250 employees, or an annual turnover exceeding the EUR 50 million, or the annual balance sheet of more total EUR 43 million are considered as non-SMEs and are required to conduct energy auditing.
What does the law provide?
The German Energy Services Act (EDL-G) requires the companies concerned to conduct an energy audit by 5 December 2015, and thereafter perform an energy audit at least once every four years. In Austria, the obligation stems from the Austrian Federal Energy Efficiency Act (EEffG) and external energy audits must be carried out by 30.11.2015 and also repeated at least once every four years. Alternatively, companies can introduce an energy management system (EnMS) in accordance with ISO 50001 or an environmental management system (EMS) under EMAS.
