The new building of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the research cam-pus Garching will enable the interdisciplinary cooperation due to the structural and spatial relationship with the faculties of computer science and mechanical engineering. The combining of the required laboratory facilities will be made possible.

From the viewpoint of their roles, the clean room, chemistry laboratory, biology laboratory, analytics and characterization belong together. The spaces are shared by several working groups. The location of the workshops and experimental workshops, which are currently located in several departments, are combined and shared.

  • Development of concepts for commissioning management and implementation in the project team
  • The commissioning concept includes, among other things, a comprehensive commissioning schedule, concepts for trial operation and maintenance operations, compliance with documentation requirements, etc.
  • Establishment of a concept for a possible technical monitoring in the operating phase
  • Accompaniment of the commissioning process, including the coordination of cross-trade trial operations

The development relates to the Professorship of Energy Conversion Technology (EWT), laboratories and the EWT test hall as well as four other professorships that are not yet assigned space. It is first necessary to plan an appropriate allocation of space. A flexible allocation of space to teaching chair areas (office areas) after the allocation of the professorships should be possible.

In total, about 150 employees and 300 students will use the first phase of construction. Shared spaces in-clude an auditorium, student study rooms and workplaces, as well as experimental areas and laboratory space. In the sense of a flexible future of the sciences, not only the shared rooms will be arranged so that they can be used well by all professorships, but also the rooms assigned to the individual professorships are designed flexibly so that they (temporarily) are available to other users.

A heavy-duty station is to be provided for the power supply. It is located in the basement with access from the road. The test hall must be accessible for trucks with the floor load capacity planned accordingly.
