Michael Dax at the panel discussion "Sustainable Building" on 22 May 2017

It does have to be one brick on top of another

Sustainability, Green Design, ecological building - these are the key words that have increasingly dominated the public debate over the past few years and are posing new challenges for designers. In addition to functionality, aesthetics and profitability, it is important to consider things such as life cycle impacts and lifecycle costs. But what is really new and will permanently change the work of the designers; and what is only a marketing trend which will soon be replaced by new slogans? In short: how sustainable is the trend towards sustainability itself? And who really determines what is "green" or sustainable - and what is not?

Michael Dax will participate in this panel discussion of the International Center for Culture and Technology Research (IZKT) of the University of Stuttgart. As an architect, sustainability expert and CSR manager, Michael Dax takes his clients through the complete life cycle of their buildings. In addition to his position leading on green building & sustainability at Alpha IC, he lectures at the University of Augsburg on sustainable building
