The Siemens Visitor Center Amberg with a gross floor area of approx. 5,100 m² on three floors and a continuous atrium was certified by AIC according to LEED v4 NC.

Particular attention was paid to the choice of materials: in the interior, mainly building materials with low VOC emissions and corresponding quality seals were used. The floor coverings, system partition walls and façade elements are C2C-certified and the wood products were sourced from sustainable forestry. To ensure adequate ventilation, offices and conference rooms are equipped with CO2 sensors. In addition, attention was paid to visual comfort through daylight and artificial light as well as acoustic comfort. Sealing in the outdoor space was kept to a minimum: a spacious green area with native plants provides a habitat for various species of insects and birds and invites people to take a walk during their lunch break. Sealed surfaces and the roof are designed in light colors to counteract the so-called heat island effect. Heat is supplied by district heating generated on the Siemens site. In future, a PV system on the roof will generate electricity for the e-charging stations, among other things. In addition, 100% green electricity will be purchased.
