The topic of "energy optimisation and digitalisation" is essential, not only in times of energy crisis, but also generally in terms of optimising operations and achieving climate goals. It is about smart practical solutions to increase transformation potential, especially in existing buildings. Therefore, we cordially invite you to participate in the 1st gefma Lounge Bavaria-Nuremberg on 30 March 2023 from 15:00 to 16:30 as part of our event category "INNOVATION", which will take place online.

We are very happy to have Marc Baranski, Head of Engineering & Research at aedifion GmbH, an expert "on board" who has both the scientific-technical know-how and is very familiar with the requirements of practice. Marc Baranski studied industrial engineering and energy technology at RWTH Aachen University. He then worked as a research assistant and led a research group at the Chair of Building and Indoor Climate Technology at RWTH Aachen University in the field of building automation. Since October 2020, he has been employed as Head of Engineering & Research at aedifion GmbH. Marc Baranski sees digitalisation as the first step towards energy efficiency:

"Digitalisation is the first step towards energy efficiency: we need to run better what is already standing. With a digital upgrade, immediate savings of up to 40% in energy, CO2 and operating costs can be made - without investment or structural changes. And then the next step is to make targeted, data-based decisions to further decarbonise."

With the aim of the best possible practical orientation, Marc Baranski and our colleague and partner at Alpha IC, Matthias Domke, will present joint best practices. From practice for practice, we want to generate an intensive exchange and added value for your own projects within the framework of the Bavaria-Nuremberg Lounge.

Our energy optimisation expert Matthias Domke will bring 30 years of professional experience and his passion for sustainable building operation to the discussion. He finds that we are sitting on a huge treasure trove of data in our buildings:

"The crucial point: with the existing building automation, we are often not able to store the accumulating operating data in a structured way and over a longer period of time. In order to use the operating data in a targeted and efficient way for energy optimisation, we need the new digital tools, such as aedifion and others."
