"Sustainability means taking responsibility" - that was the title of our very first sustainability report for Alpha IC in 2016. This is our attitude.
In this sense, on the one hand, we are driving the transformation of real estate management with our work. On the other hand, we are responsible for our carbon footprint. As part of our sustainability management, we therefore balance the CO2 emissions of our company and establish measures to reduce them. For some years, we were convinced that we could completely offset our CO2 emissions through global climate protection projects and then call ourselves climate neutral. But the fact is, we are not (yet).
Therefore, we have decided to further document, accelerate and improve our "Way-to-Zero", but not to compensate anymore, in order to then call ourselves climate neutral. At the same time, we are looking for a nature or climate protection project in Germany that we would like to support.
And there is another important piece of news in this context: Since April 2023, Alpha IC has been a member company of Gemeinwohlökonomie Deutschland e. V. and is thus committed to an ethical economic model that sees the well-being of people and the environment as the primary goal of economic activity. We are currently working on our first Gemeinwohl balance sheet, which should be validated in November 2023.
Deshalb haben wir beschlossen, unseren "Way-to-Zero" weiter zu dokumentieren, zu beschleunigen und zu verbessern, aber nicht mehr zu kompensieren, um uns dann als klimaneutral zu bezeichnen. Gleichzeitig sind wir auf der Suche nach einem Natur- bzw. Klimaschutzprojekt in Deutschland, für das wir uns einsetzen möchten.
Und es gibt noch eine wichtige Nachricht in diesem Zusammenhang: Seit April 2023 ist die Alpha IC ein Mitgliedsunternehmen der Gemeinwohlökonomie Deutschland e. V. und verpflichtet sich damit zu einem ethischen Wirtschaftsmodell, welches das Wohl von Mensch und Umwelt als oberstes Ziel des Wirtschaftens sieht. Seit Anfang 2024 sind wir ein gemeinwohl-bilanzierendes Unternehmen.

At the beginning of 2024, we proudly published our first balance sheet for The Economy of the Common Good (ECG) in order to make our contribution to the common good transparent and measurable.
Our ongoing goal is to achieve a sustainable positive impact on society and the environment through our work and thus continue to offer our customers decisive added value.
