For the Jakob-Brucker-Gymnasium in Kaufbeuren, a dynamic building and system simulation was carried out with TAS Engineering as part of the "Educational buildings in the Efficiency Plus Standard" funding program, as well as a subsequent analysis of individual classrooms using CFD simulation.
The aim of the simulations was to optimize the indoor climate while simultaneously achieving a positive annual energy balance and ensuring a high level of thermal and aerodynamic comfort in the building.
Both the refurbishment of a building (BT A) and the new construction of a specialist classroom wing (BT B) and their interaction with the rest of the school campus (with regard to the expected degree of self-sufficiency and self-consumption of PV electricity) were examined.
