It couldn't be more complex: Commissioning management for the Multiscale Imaging Centre at the University of Münster

Commissioning management (IBM) for cutting-edge biomedical research at the University of Münster 

On behalf of the Building and Real Estate Management Authority (BLB) of North Rhine-Westphalia, we managed the commissioning (IBM) for the Multiscale Imaging Centre (MIC) at the University of Münster. This complex large-scale project has now been completed and is up and running.

The MIC is the central research building for interdisciplinary cell research in biomedical imaging at the University of Münster. Covering a gross floor area of 13,000 m², the new building combines biological, chemical, and physical laboratories, as well as a cyclotron in a radioactive control area with the appropriate safety levels.The complexity of the project is evident in the elaborate media supply: the laboratory areas are supplied with four different water qualities and six different central or decentralized gases.

Bastian Lämmlein, project manager on the Alpha IC side, sums it up: "The elaborate media supply was particularly challenging for commissioning management. As expected, the resulting multitude of structural and operational interfaces was accompanied by an extremely complex commissioning process. In particular, since the validation of large laboratory systems required a fully functional media supply, maintenance operations over a longer period of time were also necessary for various trades."

Die Aufgabe unseres IBM-Teams war es, alle gewerke- und anlagenübergreifenden technischen, funktionalen und energetischen Anforderungen sicherzustellen. Das haben wir gemeinsam mit unserem Auftraggeber und den Projektbeteiligten erfolgreich geschafft:

Wir waren mit dem Inbetriebnahmemanagement und den erbrachten Leistungen sehr zufrieden.“
