Future-oriented recruitment, new leadership concepts & cultural fit in facility management.

It is clear not just from the World Cup: success depends on good staff and the right spirit. The venue for the GEFMA Day in Bavaria 2018 could not have been better: On July 26, 110 industry representatives learned about "Personal 4.0 in Facility Management" in the Max Morlock Stadium in Nuremberg. First-class speakers provided answers: How should personnel management in companies react to digital development with the networking of people and machines? Of course, the expert visitors were also given a look behind the scenes of the Bundesliga stadium, including the technical installations.

After the welcoming from the Bavarian junior lounge leaders (Sebastian Hölzlein, Wolf-gang Inderwies, Tim Bremstahler, Michael Stadelmann, Sebastian Tappert and Walter von Koskull), an entertaining keynote speech by Michael Ehlers enthused. The best-selling author, coach and public speaking trainer clearly illustrated a future which has already arrived and at the same time took the listener on an exciting journey through the world of data, which surrounds us more and more. Michael Ehlers showed with the "Moneyball Principle" whereby it is possible to put together a successful football team using database analysis. Reiner Geyer, a former Bundesliga player and current coach of the U21, took up the challenge and reported on his own experience gained at the football academy of 1. FC Nürnberg.

Dr. Christine Sasse, who is responsible for the Human Resources Division of her family-owned company, made it clear that only with suitably qualified employees can the growth potential in FM be exploited. Her solution to counteract the shortage of skilled workers: the visibility of the industry, a suitable training occupation and people willing to learn. The subject of education and qualification was taken up by Professor Klaus Heying from the Technical University of Nuremberg. The negative image of the industry is the biggest challenge for facility management. Michael Plentinger's lecture "New Work - Why We Have to Rethink HR" focused on the effects of accelerated innovation and changing job profiles. While work-life balance is the focus of attention, the boundaries between work and other aspects of life are breaking down. In this context, data science helps us to find people who fit both in terms of their expertise and personality into the range of tasks as well as the corporate culture. Using the example of the organization Alpha IC, Richard Weller explained how the challenges of digitization can be dealt with in human resources work. The success factors reported include a functioning corporate culture in combination with new flexible management concepts. Further exciting contributions around the topic of Personal 4.0 were made by Dirk Pfann (Federal Employment Agency), René Alexander Rauscher (HAYS), Ulrike Laux (IGBAU), Michael Zwisler (PFGC), Mirco Melega (effective HR solutions) and Bernd Wiest (Bernd Wiest Consulting). The current situation in human resources in facility management was comprehensively highlighted in eleven lectures, and the participants were able to take a number of ideas away with them.

GEFMA Managing Director Elke Kuhlmann, who had traveled from Bonn to be at the event, once again praised the format of this event series and paid the managers of the GEFMA lounges and junior lounges in Bavaria the highest respect for their volunary organization.
