Normally you come across graffiti outdoors and not everyone is always happy to see it. But just as RESI is very different from other office buildings, on the first floor of our new RESI company headquarters, you find yourself standing, intentionally and enthusiastically, in front of a cool indoor graffiti. The work by illustrator André Nauman can be found right above a wooden grandstand that serves as a meeting place. Its title is “Human Rights Square” and fits perfectly with the new address of our Alpha IC at Platz der Menschenrechte 1 on the Lagarde Campus in Bamberg. As a net-zero building without heating and cooling, the RESI is not only a statement for a sustainable real estate industry, but also a clear statement for democracy and human rights!

The message of the graffiti is not only to value human rights and democracy, but to actively work to preserve them - especially in light of the current shift to the right. So it's no wonder that the depiction also refers to the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. We Alphas see our work as paving the way for a future worth living. In this sense, the “Human Rights Square” graffiti, which incidentally was not sprayed but painted on the wall with special non-toxic pens, is a commitment to freedom and democracy and an obligation to our children and grandchildren to treat our planet responsibly.

You can find out why our managing director and client Sebastian Hölzlein didn't just want to hang up a picture and what he and André had in mind when they conceived this project in the report by Radio Bamberg, whose reporter Anja Troll looked at the completed work of art in the RESI and spoke to the two protagonists.
